Specific Responsibilities

The Electrician II, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Onshore Production Operations team at the company’s Wink, TX office reporting to the Electrical Foreman Sr. 
 
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Perform power line maintenance from insulated bucket truck
•    Ability to wire transformers with common connections, ( WYE & DELTA )
•    Able to perform power line maintenance including but not limited to changing arrestors, changing crossarms, changing insulators, and other task involving power line maintenance.
•    Capable of performing electrical trouble shooting on overhead power lines down to end devices on pumping units or Facility locations.
•    Ability to operate Apache bucket truck according to Apache safety requirements.
•    Install and/or replace electrical equipment and systems
•    Responsible for troubleshooting  and maintenance of electrical equipment
•    Perform minor maintenance on electrical instrumentation
•    Maintain inventory and equipment logs
•    Interpret schematics for electrical systems
•    Consult with vendors on design and installation of new electrical equipment
•    Track usage of contract electricians(cost, hours used, job completion) and have the ability to justify the use of the contractors to production foreman or district manager
•    Prepare written reports on ideas and changes wanted; include reasons why and cost, when possible
•    Attend and participate in all safety meetings
•    Adhere to all Apache safety guidelines and NEC guidelines on installations.
•    Ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
 

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    2 years related experience with a High School diploma or equivalent.
•    Must have line experience in various types of power line construction.
•    Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications and other PC based computer applications.
•    Excellent communication and grammar skills, exhibited both in conversation and written  materials 
•    Ability to anticipate and recognize problems, then develop solutions with minimal coaching
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Ensures accuracy of all reports
•    Safety minded in performing day-to-day tasks
•    Familiarity of all lease equipment and functions
•    Adequate knowledge to identify downhole problems
•    Good driving record
•    Team player
•    Job is classified as medium physical work
•    Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-100 pounds
•    Occasionally may require squatting, crawling and climbing
•    Frequently may require bending, reaching above shoulders, reaching to the floor, reading, writing, working at heights and working around moving machinery
•    Frequently exposed to marked changes in weather conditions including temperature and humidity
•    Continuously exposed to dust, fumes and gases
•    Continuously works independently without supervision and requires quick or important decision making
•    Must be able to drive a vehicle and have the ability to wear respirator protection and personal protective equipment, as required
