Specific Responsibilities
The USON Chemical Lead for Apache Corporation will be a member of the Production Chemical department reporting to the Water Resources & Production Chemical Department Supervisor. This role will be field-based and responsible for overseeing production area chemical programs for Apache Delaware Asset’s North and West production areas located in Eddy and Lea Counties, NM, and Reeves and Loving Counties, TX. This role will indirectly report to their production operations foremen and treat them as their customer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support production operations by managing respective production chemical program by, at minimum, the following:
- Manage daily activities of chemical company personnel to ensure effective treatmentMonitor chemical usage throughout operations to ensure correct applications and dosages are applied (i.e. corrosion/scale inhibitor, paraffin, emulsion breaker, H2S scavenger, and biocide treatments)
- Attend well failure meetings and participate in failure root cause determination
- Implement chemical-related corrective actions to reduce future failures
- Monitor and reduce high frequency failure well counts
- Review and approve chemical company analytical testing to ensure correct chemistries are applied, working in conjunction with field leadership and production engineering
- Attend and inspect downhole equipment during failure well pulls
- Assist production foreman with developing annual chemical budget
- Review monthly program usage and costs with field leadership
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Review and approve chemical company invoice
- Collaborate with other departments including drilling, completions, facilities, and production engineering to assist with any production chemical related issues that may arise
Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in oil and gas production chemicals
- Proven track record as a production chemical account manager or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science in chemistry or engineering preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of production chemistry lab testing, field application, and safety
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record of success in chemical management, optimization and safety
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
