Specific Responsibilities
The Electrician II, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Onshore Production Operations team at the company’s Andrews, TX office reporting to the Electrical Foreman.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Install and/or replace electrical equipment including tank levels, pressure instrumentation, safety switches, LACT units, telephone lines and systems, chromatographs, electric motors and pumps, wiring conduits, motor starters, generators, control panels, voltage regulators, rectifiers, transformers, gas detectors, and fire alarm systems.
• Perform minor maintenance on electrical instrumentation.
• Maintain inventory and equipment logs
• Consults with vendors on the design and installation of new electrical equipment
• Purchase new electronic equipment when necessary
• Interpret schematics for electrical systems
• Must possess a high level of knowledge and competence in regard to High Voltage Substation work ranging up to 13.8 KV with associated duties of switching, transferring loads, trouble shooting and maintenance and repair of all related switchgear.
• Must possess knowledge of high voltage power line construction, maintenance and repair, including transformer sizing and installation.
• Must possess general knowledge and ability to program PLC’s basic calibration of flow, temperature, and press devices
• Must be computer literate and able to utilize basic programs
• Participate appropriately on asset management teams in concert with technical groups and other field personnel in order to optimize operation efficiency and promote safety
• Track weekly usage of contract electricians
• Record and oversee ESP pull and runs as directed by foreman
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years related experience.
• General knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations
• Ability to perform simple mathematic calculations, good mechanical aptitude, good writing skills and have a good safety and driving record
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC based computer applications and be willing to be a team member
