Specific Responsibilities
The USON Maintenance Manager at Apache Corporation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of oil and gas production facilities in the US Onshore Production Operations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing all maintenance activities, including both preventative and corrective maintenance, to ensure the optimal functionality of equipment and processes. The Maintenance Manager is a proactive leader who manages a team, develops maintenance strategies, and ensures compliance with safety regulations. The role emphasizes operational excellence through customer service for Production Operations, Production Engineering, Facility Construction, Facility Engineering, and Environmental departments. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager helps increase production, minimize downtime, and control operating costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Maintenance Procedures: Create and enforce maintenance systems and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
- Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead and manage the maintenance staff, providing training and support to ensure high performance.
- Budget Management: Assist the Operations Managers and Production Foreman in overseeing the budget for the maintenance department, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, health, and safety regulations, including Apache EHS Standards and regulatory compliance with the EPA Consent Decree.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any maintenance-related issues.
- Prepare Reports: Maintain records of maintenance and repair work, and prepare regular reports on maintenance activities.
- Mechanical Maintenance: Manage the Maintenance Foreman to ensure oversight of repair and maintenance of mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Compression Maintenance: Manage the Compression Foreman to ensure efficient and reliable operations of compression equipment.
- Emissions Management: Manage the Emissions Foreman to ensure compliance with emissions regulations and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Organizational Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. Develop and mentor team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
- Preventative and Corrective Maintenance: Manage both preventative and corrective maintenance activities for facility equipment and wells to ensure continuous and reliable operations.
- Manage SAP PM Schedule: Oversee the scheduling of maintenance activities using SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) to ensure timely and efficient execution of maintenance tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- High school diploma
- Trade apprenticeship in Mechanical discipline
- Preferably a degree in a Mechanical Engineering subject
- Good knowledge of on/offshore oil and gas related process, systems and equipment
- Experience of using SAP (or equivalent) computerized maintenance management system
- 10+ years of hands on experience in the equipment they are supporting within an offshore environment or onshore plant/refinery
- Proven and demonstrable experience in the energy industry
- Previous experience of managing budgets
- Previous experience of procurement and contract management
- Experienced in integrated activity planning best practices
