Position Description & Duties:

The General Manager, Onshore Production Operations, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Onshore Production Operations team at the company’s Midland, TX, office reporting to the Senior Vice President, Production Operations. 
The General Manager of Production Operations supports the Senior Vice President Production Operations in running all US based field operations.  This position is key in maintain safe, economical, and environmentally sound operations based in the US.  Working with the responsible Asset Managers in order to carry out field-based execution of the multi-year plan as set out by the Assets.  Recommends and implements programs and procedures to ensure maximum safety, operating efficiency and cost reduction initiatives. 

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Prepare and execute field development plan to maximize corporate growth and profitability.
•    Assist in preparing all field operations; work closely with the SVP and Assets on the execution of the multi-year plan.
•    Have active involvement in the design of facilities and infrastructure to be installed in each field.
•    Provide management and leadership of technical and operational staff, including all field AOMs and the associated staff.
•    Promote and maintain a safe workplace environment that rivals best-in-class operator safety records.
•    Report to senior management current performance and realistic future projections with regard to production and financial data as well as issues impacting performance. Provide analysis, alternatives, and recommendations to address problems.

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related Engineering field is required.
•    15+ years of upstream operations and development experience leading field operations and/or drilling activities required.
•    20+ years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage large field-based and office-based teams.
•    Experience with horizontal drilling and advanced completions.
•    Familiarity with the operational requirements of advanced oil field technology (e.g., custom polymers, surfactants, coiled tubing, radial jet-well stimulation, acidulation, custom proppants, etc.).
•    Familiarity with IOR/EOR operations and project design.
•    Experience with gas cleanup, gas separation, and gas compression equipment and operations.
•    Comfort with the deployment of advanced information technology in the oil field such as wellhead multi-phase metering.
•    Goal-oriented and a demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data, develop a plan/strategy to move forward, and measure progress by establishing critical milestones and implementing controls to ensure attainment.
•    Able to travel Up to 50% of the time .
