Position Description & Duties:

Facilities Engineer II for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Facilities Engineering Team at the company’s Midland, TX office reporting to the Director, Facilities Engineering & Construction, USON & ALTM.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Design / Operations support experience for upstream surface production facilities including flowlines, pipelines, manifolds, tank batteries, compressor stations, water disposal facilities, separation facilities, storage, sales and other processing facilities
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, expand, and repair existing production facilities to maintain existing production and for utilization in new development opportunities
  • Project planning, management, and tracking for the safe execution of projects within scope, cost, schedule and performance expectations
  • Develop design basis memos, project management plans, cost estimates, scopes of work and construction RFQs in a variety of field development plans
  • Work closely with Apache project engineers, operations and production personnel as well as third party inspectors and contractors
  • Provide operations team and field inputs to project studies/assessments to ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulations
  • Ensure company EHS compliance and participate in related Design reviews, HAZOP, and Site Safety assessments
  • Facilities engineering management of the MOC system for existing facilities
  • Participate in brown field tie-ins, well hookups and constructability studies focus to minimize production impact and shut downs maintaining facility integrity and company EHS compliance
  • Focal Point in facilities / operations project interface meetings
  • Develop procedures and manage activities of commissioning and startup
  • Self-starting team player, capable of working to tight deadlines and keeping within specified approved budgets
  • Based in the Midland Field office and travel to the field to support projects and operations

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience in facilities engineering design and construction of onshore oil and gas production facilities
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines while making technically and economically sound recommendations 
  • A commitment to safety and the environment in engineering design considerations and recommendations
  • Effective verbal and written communication within a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction
  • Knowledge and experience with upstream oil and gas operations and construction 
  • Experience with industry codes and standards
  • Proficiency with hydraulic modeling programs and experience with oil, gas, water system design and analysis
  • Experience in creating and reviewing P&IDs, piping plans and plot plans for upstream oil and gas facilities
  • Ability to represent the company with vendors, engineering firms, contractors, inspectors and other technical staff 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
