Specific Responsibilities

 
The Surface Land Tech is responsible for providing support to the Surface Land Department, under the supervision of the Surface Land Manager.  

 

  • Create and administer land payments and schedules in accordance with contract terms
  • Set up and submit BA/vendor requests
  • Assist Surface Landmen with preparation, review, correspondence, research, and administration of surface land agreements
  • Initiate and input surface agreements in QLA
  • Coordinate processing of surface agreement with Midland Land and Contract Analysts
  • Assist department personnel with special projects as needed
  • General use of Apache Systems:  SAP, DataNow, AFE NAV, Quorum Land System (“QLS”), DMS Imaging, MapsNow, QGIS and ARC GIS
  • Analyzing, Scanning and Filing documents in Land Files and DMS Imaging system
  • Record documents in county records, mail required copies to 3rd parties as required, scan and maintain electronic files

Qualifications & Experience

 
  • BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent years of experience 
  • 3 + years of relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to speak and understand oilfield terminology
  • Understanding of land and legal documents
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work with employees and vendors as well as other disciplines
  • Strong skills as a coordinator among different departments
  • Capability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
