Specific Responsibilities

The Supply Market Intelligence & Forecasting Advisor role for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Global Supply Chain at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Strategy and Compliance Director.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, global inflation/deflation annual cost forecasting process that aligns with annual planning process
  • Collaborate with Asset Teams and Corporate Planning to provide forecasting input into the annual plan
  • Perform accurate and timely strategic data analysis, including cost, financial, statistical, quantitative, and qualitative
  • Translate data from supply market reports/resources into effective and actionable analysis and reports
  • Prepare recommendations and viewpoints on short- and long-term cost escalation / de-escalation for key categories/commodities across Apache
  • Lead cost benchmarking studies in support of cost management strategies and initiatives for key operational activities
  • Provide recommendations, along with necessary supporting data, to senior leadership on business and market strategies, including providing input and/or preparation of information for Investor Relations and Analyst Meetings
  • Identify, source, negotiate, and maintain a robust portfolio of market intelligence resources (e.g., industry, economic, financial, supplier, operational, benchmarking, etc.)
  • Perform ad hoc business analytics as required
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Stakeholders
  • Primary Stakeholders:
    • Executive Leadership
    • Corporate Planning
    • Global Supply Chain (including Category Management and Strategic Sourcing)
    • Asset Teams and Functions


Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain Management, Business or relevant Business / Technical discipline
  • Master’s degree in relevant Business / Technical discipline is preferred 
  • Demonstrated desire to pursue continuing education is preferred
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a highly analytical role
  • At least 3 – 5 years in Supply Chain, or related discipline, with experience in Upstream Oil & Gas
  • In-depth knowledge of economic analysis, financial analysis, and forecasting methods
  • Proficiency in economic modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint
