Position Description & Duties:

Location: Houston, TX or Aberdeen, UK

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Reservoir Engineer with senior to advisor level experience to join our team. This person will work with a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the assessment and development of Apache’s assets.  Must have relevant industry experience working primarily with conventional reservoirs and offshore projects. 

Position Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Use classical reservoir engineering techniques to identify drilling, recompletion, and workover potential within new and existing assets;
  • Integrate pressure transient analysis, material balance, decline curve and volumetric analyses into reservoir evaluation;
  • Build reservoir simulation models when appropriate to validate/improve predictions and quantify uncertainty;
  • Design and manage reservoir data acquisition program and associated operations;
  • Work with integrated team to develop and optimize completion, stimulation, and lift design;
  • Design and analyze well tests and use surveillance techniques to assess well/field performance;
  • Plan and execute project development with multi-disciplinary team;
  • Provide reservoir engineering support for field development plans to characterize asset potential and value;
  • Identify and evaluate strategic acquisition/trade/divestiture opportunities;
  • Perform economic analyses and sensitivities as needed; and
  • Provide justification and documentation for new reserve bookings.

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Petroleum Engineering (or related engineering degree);
  • 10+ yrs Reservoir Engineering experience with E&P Company;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with multi-disciplinary team;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet project deadlines;
  • Must be detail oriented;
  • Self-starter and able to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Proficient at economic evaluation and risk/uncertainty assessment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to present to Executive-level audience; and
  • Experience using database, engineering, and geoscience software, including tNavigator/Eclipse, Kappa, PetroVR, OFM/Sahara, Harmony, Spotfire, ARIES.
