Position Description & Duties:

The Regulatory Manager, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s EH&S team at the company’s Houston office, reporting to the Director of Environment and Sustainability. 
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Lead global regulatory team for onshore and offshore activities 
•    Manage the process to obtain required regulatory permits and approvals for Apache’s global operational footprint
•    Manage personnel to ensure professional development and growth of a global team
•    Manage regulatory compliance in Permian, US GOM, UK North Sea and global exploration activities
•    Provide interpretation and assessment of proposed oil and gas related rules and regulations
•    Supports operations and drilling functions in compliance matters and rules interpretation
•    Directs the activities of the Regulatory team to ensure that employees in functional areas follow established procedures so that the Company is in compliance with applicable regulations
•    Supports and interacts with operation and drilling sections in planning, review, and best-practices
•    Meets periodically with international, federal, state, and local officials to support Company’s activities in a proactive manner.  Interact with agencies on compliance issues and rule waivers, as needed.
•    Represents the Company at industry and agency meetings
•    Demonstrates full technical competence related to the rules and regulations as applicable to oil, gas, and pipeline matters
•    Focus of technical background in the US Gulf of Mexico offshore operations 
•    Expertise in BSEE and BOEM rules and regulations 

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
•    Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required
•    10+ years of regulatory background experience required
•    10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry required
•    Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills
•    Experienced leadership and multitasking in a dynamic environment
•    Ability to work well within an integrated multi-disciplinary team
•    Ability to communicate information and evaluations (written and oral)
