Position Description & Duties:

The Organizational Development Senior Analyst for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Organizational Development & Effectiveness team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Organizational Development & Effectiveness.  The group functions as a Center of Excellence focused on developing Apache employees, cultivating engagement, and improving effectiveness of the workforce.


The Organizational Development Senior Analyst will lead strategic workforce planning, global leadership development, employee engagement strategy, and performance management process for Apache, as well as broader initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the organization.  The role will also support learning and development objectives.


The role entails:

  • Significant collaboration throughout the organization especially within the HR function  
  • Frequent and varied communications with stakeholders 
  • Project planning and execution, including prioritizing multiple assignments and developing deliverables in a fast-paced environment


 Key Activities & Areas of Focus include:

  • Developing, implementing, and improving, strategies and processes for performance management 
  • Collaborating within HR and the organization to implement the talent management process including talent development, talent review, and succession planning; utilize tools, resources, templates, and reporting to support process 
  • Developing a global leadership development program and embedding and sustaining the program within the organization. This may include creating trainings, materials, and learnings and working with vendors to enforce Apache’s core and leadership competencies 
  • Establish a strategic workforce planning approach to assist with planning for future workforce needs 
  • Leading the design and implementation of career pathing and planning to facilitate employee development; Collaborating with the organization to provide consulting and support for team development, competency development, and other development needs 
  • Lead the employee engagement survey strategy and collaborate within HR and the organization to implement an organizational wide approach 
  • Support culture and employee engagement initiatives to continue fostering a positive and inclusive workplace 
  • Driving and supporting the change management of initiatives supporting learning, leadership and employee development, and high performance  
  • Leading or participating in special projects related to organizational and HR strategic initiatives 
  • Assuming a SME role by providing organizational effectiveness support and guidance where needed 

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 5+ years of Organizational & Development, HRBP, or related HR experience in managing organizational and development programs 
  • Experience working with oil and gas exploration and production businesses preferred  
  • Project and program management experience leading multiple, concurrent projects with change management focus; preference for experience in the areas of Change Management, Human Capital Management or Process Improvement (2+ years preferred) 
  • Experience utilizing Human Capital Management Systems, with a preference for SuccessFactors experience (2+ years) 
  • Solid understanding of Organizational Development concepts, key players, tools and best practices 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to facilitate meetings to achieve an objective, while “reading the room” and adapting approach or communication styles as needed 
  • Strategic thinking with ability to work through ambiguity 
  • Ability to identify themes, distill information for various audiences, build executive ready deliverables, and articulate a point of view concisely, clearly and diplomatically 
  • Ability to support and work in a matrix environment and collaborate across groups to achieve an end goal 
  • Ability to report and analyze data with attention to detail 
  • An undergraduate degree from accredited four-year college or university
