Specific Responsibilities

 

A Network Administration Analyst I is responsible for supporting and maintaining an organization's computer network systems. They provide end user technical support and collaborate with other IT professionals. They assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software, ensuring optimal network performance and security. They monitor network activity, analyze network problems, and implement solutions to enhance network efficiency. 

 

  • Actively monitor network health and proactively create service requests to mitigate network issues
  • Monitor network queue for all network related incidents, service requests, and outages
  • Troubleshoot reported network performance or application performance issues
  • Work with service providers on circuit issues
  • Manage and support the network monitoring and configuration management software
  • Assist with upgrades to network equipment and other proactive work
  • Effectively communicate with end users and peers around the world

 

Skills

 

  • Experience with network management tools (Wireshark, Solarwinds, etc.)
  • Expereince with Palo Alto products including Panorama, PA NextGen Firewalls and Prisma
  • Expereince with Cisco routers, switches, firewall and wireless hardware
  • Experience with troubleshooting basic routing, switching and firewall issues
  • Working knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, IP SLA and other management protocols
  • Extensive knowledge of IP subnetting
  • Understanding of network access control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex network issues

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

 

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 1+ years relevant experience
  • Actively working towards an industry relevant certification such as Network+ or CCNA
