Position Description & Duties

The International Tax Specialist for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Corporate Tax team at the company’s Houston, TX office reporting to the International Tax Manager.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Prepare U.S. Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 1120-F (simple);
  • Assist with preparation quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provisions for foreign entities;
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual Subpart F and GILTI analyses;
  • Prepare annual U.S. transfer pricing documentation for intercompany transactions;
  • Prepare Excel workbooks for recurring and non-recurring transactions;
  • Perform technical research and prepare tax memorandums;
  • Prepare FinCEN Forms 114 for the Company and for U.S. persons with signature authority over foreign bank accounts;
  • Prepare Master File, Local Files, and Form 8975 Country by Country Report;
  • Monitor and manage intercompany loans and interest payment due dates;
  • Assist with maintaining international organization chart; and,
  • Prepare of Form 1042 and Forms 1042-S.

Preferred Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required;
  • CPA or progress towards CPA preferred;
  • Experienced understanding of U.S. international tax principles required; 
  • Basic understanding of U.S. domestic tax principles a plus;
  • At least 3 years of professional oil and gas tax experience with some in public accounting;
  • Working knowledge of CorpTax software required for compliance and provision;
  • Working knowledge of SAP software preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required;
  • Ability to present and explain projects and ideas in a group setting;
  • Ability to interface with all departments; and,
  • Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
