Specific Responsibilities

An International Tax Accountant Senior for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Corporate Tax team at the company’s Houston, TX office located in One Briarlake Plaza reporting to the International Tax Manager.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

 

  • Prepare quarterly US GAAP tax provisions for foreign jurisdictions;

  • Calculate quarterly foreign inclusions (Transfer Pricing, Subpart F, GILTI, etc.);

  • Prepare UK local Corporate Income Tax and Petroleum Revenue Tax returns;

  • Manage local statutory tax provisions and tax returns prepared by outside consultants;

  • Prepare Form 1042 and Forms 1042-S;

  • Prepare Master File, Local Files, and Form 8975 Country by Country Report;

  • Prepare Excel workbooks for recurring and non-recurring transactions;

  • Perform tax technical research and prepare tax memorandums;

  • Manage prioritization of multiple projects and communicate results to supervisor and team; and

  • Assist in the development of best practices for the income tax compliance and tax accounting processes.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required;

  • CPA or progress towards CPA required;

  • At least 5 years of professional corporate tax experience with some in public accounting, preferably Big 4;

  • Strong knowledge of a broad range of U.S. international tax principles; 

  • Basic understanding of U.S. domestic tax principles a plus; 

  • Basic understanding of U.K. oil and gas taxation a plus; 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required;

  • Working knowledge of CorpTax software required;

  • Working knowledge of SAP software preferred;

  • Working knowledge of Alteryx a plus;

  • Ability to present and explain projects and ideas in a group setting;

  • Strong attention to detail required;

  • Ability to interface with all departments; and,

  • Excellent analytical, organization, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
