Position Description & Duties:

The entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s IT team at the company’s Houston, TX office reporting to the IT Manager, Information Security.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Management and evaluation of security incidents and alerts;
  • Basic administration of security tools and platforms;
  • Assist in data collection for investigations and incident response;
  • Review asset discovery and vulnerability assessment report;
  • Coordination of vulnerability remediation with technology owners;
  • Intrusion detection and prevention system monitoring and analysis; and
  • Update processes, procedures, playbooks and other relevant documentation.

Preferred & Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in cybersecurity, system administration or network administration;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
  • Familiar with or working knowledge of:
    • Industry leading SIEM solutions
    • Endpoint detection and response technologies
    • Security architectures and best practices
    • Windows and Linux based operating systems
    • Fundamental network protocols (TCP/IP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, Syslog, HTTP/HTTPS etc.)
    • Scripting languages (PowerShell, python, etc.)
    • Familiarity with common attack and mitigation techniques.
    • Please be aware that this role does not provide relocation assistance.
    • Please be aware that the role is a hybrid and requires you to be in the office 3x a week.
