Specific Responsibilities

The Geologist/Geomodeller - EG, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Geoscience team at the company's Houston office, reporting to the Geology Director. 

 
This role will be primarily responsible for the following: 

  •  Identify, characterize, risk, and mature conventional oil and gas development/appraisal opportunities. 
  •  Construction and maintenance of 3D static geocellular models.   
  •  Communicate, plan, and prepare drill well proposals with Cairo staff.  
  •  Collaborate with multi-disciplined subsurface team including petrophysics, geophysics, and reservoir engineering. 
  •  Integrate large, multidisciplinary datasets for subsurface studies. 
  •  Provide volumetric assessment for planning and executing field development plans.   
  •  Deliver recommendations on behind-pipe, infill, coiled tubing candidates and new drill opportunities. 

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: 

• MSc. in Geology or Geophysics.  
• 7-12 years of industry experience minimum 5 years of conventional, development experience.  
• Working knowledge of related subsurface disciplines (petrophysics, petroleum geochemistry, reservoir engineering, well economics). 

• Seismic interpretation experience in complex structural regimes. 
• Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with the data available.    

  

Preferred/Desired Skills 

  • Proficient to expert knowledge of Petrel.   
  • Geomodelling skills with focus on field development and volumetrics.  
  • Proven prospect-generation and reservoir characterization skills. 
  • Experience in fluvial and shallow marine environments.
