Specific Responsibilities

The Geologist II - DB for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Geology team at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Geology Director.

 

This role will be primarily responsible for the following: 

•    Provide geoscience support for planning and execution of horizontal drill wells within the Permian basin
•    Identify, map and mature development opportunities
•    Regional characterization of unconventional reservoirs with emphasis on source rock, hydrocarbon volume in place and geomechanics, through integration of seismic, well log and core data into static geologic models

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    2-10 years of industry experience with a relevant MSc or higher geoscience degree
•    At least 2 years working experience in unconventional plays in the Permian Basin
•    Experience in Petrel geologic interpretation skills using wireline logs
•    Some familiarity geocellular modelling skills using Petrel
•    Experience with petrophysics, geomechanics and petroleum systems data and interpretation
