Specific Responsibilities

The Facilities Engineering Technician Sr for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Facilities Engineering & Projects team at the company’s Houston, Texas office reporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager - DB. The Engineering Technician will perform technical support associated with planning, evaluation, execution, tracking, expediting, and project reporting. Position will be required to work with managers, engineers, and construction personnel to prepare approval documents, estimates, AFEs, accruals, supplement documentation, purchase order requests, daily functional reports, and track team KPIs. 

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • AFE preparation, entry, approval tracking, and supplement monitoring.
  • Evaluation of cost reports to establish unit pricing needed to prepare future project estimates and budget forecasts.
  • Coordination of accrual updates with input from engineers, construction, cost control and planning personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain current Design Basis Memorandums (DBM), Project Execution Plans (PEP) & Schedules using input from engineers and construction personnel.
  • Track equipment and material deliveries based on executed Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Prepare project construction and close-out documentation to ensure critical information is stored and accessible to engineers, construction members and operations.
  • Monitor daily construction reports to track progress, manhours and cost related Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Process invoices, update AFE/GL coding and route for approval.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and remain current with A-Game training.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree in applicable engineering, construction, project management or related field.
  • 5+ years of industry related technical support experience required. Oil & Gas project experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including MS Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, Ariba, SAP, Spotfire, and DataNow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and grammar skills.
