Specific Responsibilities

 
The Auditor II conducts audits of suppliers, performs analytics of internal data as well as perform special projects as assigned. This position has a good foundation in accounting, audit or related field and can work independently or, in more complex audits, work under the direction of a more experienced auditor. This position also has a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply industry standards and is adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the department's results.
 
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

 

  • Gather and review all contracts and internal data pertinent to suppliers under review.
  • Identify audit risks, potential audit procedures and recommend scope of testing capable of working independently as well as working under the general direction of a more experienced auditor on more complex audits. 
  • Obtain and schedule invoice detail.
  • Utilize interrogatory skills to interview people both within and outside the organization to obtain needed information.
  • Run queries, utilizing relevant systems to perform data analytics.
  • Perform audit test procedures, meeting deadlines while still maintaining a high-quality work product.
  • Prepare and organize audit work papers to document work performed and support audit conclusions.
  • Analyze audit findings, develop formal written exceptions, and develop sound remediation recommendations and/or audit claims.
  • Attend audit closing meetings to communicate audit work, findings, and recommendations to management.
  • Recommend new or modified procedures that improve efficiency or compliance and mitigate risk or loss.
  • Assist in the duplicate payment review process by reviewing ACL script output and underlying supporting documentation.
  • Perform ad hoc special projects for management as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, supply chain or other related field.
  • 3+ years experience in oil & gas preferred in accounting or supply chain.
  • Demonstrates eagerness and willingness to learn about O&G industry.
  • Executes assigned work with minimal errors.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive research.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent Oral and written communication.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and ask pertinent questions.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
