Specific Responsibilities

 

The Accountant (Level I-II) for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Shared Accounting Services team, reporting to the Accounting Sr. Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for the following: 

 

  • Manage a set of Joint Interest Billing (JIB) customer’s including analyzing and reconciling customer accounts, providing monthly updates to management on balances, monitoring to ensure timely payment, manage cash calls and cash receipts to be applied. 
  • Utilize GetPaid software to monitor accounts, send collection letters, run weekly aging report, and log problems. 
  • Respond to inquiries and disputes – perform analysis, work with Capital, LOE, Land Data Management, Operations, Legal, and other departments when necessary to formulate a response to partners.  
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.  
  • Assist with projects as needed including but not limited to system testing, audits, legal requests, and quarterly related party requests. 

Qualifications & Experience

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours. 
  • Entry level to 3+ years of general accounting or auditing experience preferably in the oil and gas industry. 
  • Knowledge of accounting and oil & gas industry terminology, a plus  
  • Proficient Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. 
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, GetPaid, and EnergyLink, preferred but not required. 
  • Pursues work with energy, drive, and results orientation to positively impact Apache's business success. 
  • Appropriately handles issues and problems; referring to higher-level staff, as needed. 
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of subject matter. 
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet monthly deadlines.  
  • Able to think critically and analyze work performed to identify potential issues and anomalies. 
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, administrative and organizational skills. 
  • Able to work well in a team setting with consistent and professional interactions and approachability with team members. 
 
Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Accountant I or Accountant II.
