Specific Responsibilities

The Production Engineering Technician II - Legacy for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Production Engineering team at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Production Engineering Manager.

 

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Create, organize, maintain, and interrogate large datasets through substantial knowledge of SQL;
•    Maintain and enhance SQL Server databases, data collation and manipulation, and defining data workflows;
•    Create and maintain custom Spotfire projects connected to multiple live internal and external data sources to create visualizations needed for specific workflows and KPI’s;
•    Ability to write custom R scripts to enhance the capability of Spotfire projects;
•    Create and maintain the Production Engineering Function’s OFM project and all associated charts, calculated variables, reports, bubble maps, databases and datalinks;
•    Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets which include datalinks, VBA scripts, pivot tables, calculated variables, and charts;
•    Create Word and PowerPoint documents to support AFE creation and approvals;
•    Read through physical and electronic well files to create accurate wellbore diagrams in WellView;
•    Provide and manage data from internal and external applications and software including IHS Enerdeq, Enverus (DrillingInfo), PDS Energy, and  WellView;
•    Provide quality control and assurance for well, technical, and economic data;
•    Identify and implement process improvements related to existing and new production engineering workflows;
•    Provide user support and training for applications and software including Spotfire, OFM, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
•    Coordinate with other departments as necessary to acquire access to datasets and information; and
•    Provide support as needed for Production Engineering KPI’s.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or equivalent
•    5+ years Engineering Technologist or Data Scientist experience with an E&P Company
•    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team
•    Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet project deadlines
•    Must be detail-oriented
•    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
•    Desire to learn new technology and systems
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate project workflows or analyses to team
•    Experience using database and engineering software, including WellView, OFM, Spotfire, SQL Server, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
•    Avocet, Microsoft Power platform (PowerApps, Power Automate), & SAP experience is a plus
