The Assistant Emissions Foreman is a field leadership position responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation and maintenance of emissions control equipment across Apache's US Onshore operations. The role provides daily technical and operational leadership to Emissions Technicians while working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Production Operations, Environmental, Engineering, Automation, and contractor partners. The Assistant Emissions Foreman combines hands-on technical expertise with field leadership responsibilities. This position supports the Maintenance Manager in coordinating emissions maintenance activities, developing personnel, managing work priorities, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with applicable environmental requirements and Apache standards.

Emissions Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

• Provide technical leadership for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vapor recovery systems and emissions control equipment.
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize emissions-related downtime.
• Troubleshoot recurring equipment problems and recommend appropriate repairs, equipment modifications, or reliability improvements.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of vapor recovery systems, production equipment, and associated emissions control devices.
• Assist Production Operations and other field personnel with troubleshooting and proper operation of emissions-related equipment.
• Identify equipment performance trends and opportunities to improve reliability, maintainability, and operating efficiency.

Field Leadership & Work Coordination

• Provide daily direction and technical support to Emissions Technicians.
• Coordinate and prioritize field maintenance activities based on safety, environmental compliance, equipment condition, and operational needs.
• Support the Maintenance Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of emissions maintenance activities.
• Help coordinate technician coverage, contractor resources, equipment, and materials required to execute maintenance work.
• Monitor work execution and ensure completed work meets Apache safety, environmental, and quality expectations.
• Provide field leadership during equipment failures, urgent repairs, and other emissions-related operational events.

Environmental & Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain working knowledge of applicable state and federal emissions requirements and Apache's approach to environmental compliance.
• Support compliance activities associated with applicable EPA, TCEQ, RRC, and other regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with Environmental personnel to address equipment-related compliance issues and maintenance priorities.
• Support Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) activities, including use of Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) equipment and associated documentation as required.
• Ensure identified emissions equipment deficiencies are appropriately documented, prioritized, communicated, and corrected.
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance and field documentation needed to support environmental reporting and compliance activities.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and field reviews as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Environmental personnel.

Contractor & Cost Management

• Coordinate contractor activities associated with emissions equipment maintenance, repair, inspection, and field services.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution.
• Review contractor daily tickets, service documentation, and invoices for accuracy and appropriate charges.
• Promote efficient use of contractor labor, materials, and company resources.
• Support bidding, contractor evaluation, and procurement activities as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
• Assist with monitoring operating costs and identifying opportunities to improve maintenance cost effectiveness.
• Safeguard company equipment, materials, and other assets.

Safety & Operational Excellence

• Lead by example in demonstrating Apache's commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with Apache safety policies, environmental requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Identify unsafe conditions or practices and take appropriate action to correct them.
• Review repair procedures and work practices to minimize safety hazards and environmental impacts.
• Maintain working knowledge of Apache's Management of Change (MOC) process and support its application when equipment or facility modifications require it.
• Participate in safety meetings, incident reviews, equipment failure investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
• Promote quality workmanship, accurate documentation, and ownership of equipment performance.

Team Development & Cross-Functional Support

• Mentor and develop Emissions Technicians through hands-on coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Support the Maintenance Manager in identifying training and development needs within the emissions maintenance team.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and consistent work practices across the emissions maintenance organization.
• Build effective working relationships with Production Operations, Environmental, Engineering, Automation, Supply Chain, and contractor organizations.
• Communicate equipment issues, maintenance priorities, compliance concerns, and resource needs effectively to the Maintenance Manager and appropriate stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to simplify work processes, improve maintenance efficiency, and strengthen emissions equipment reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Maintenance Planning & Work Management

• Utilize the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or work management system to support planning, scheduling, documentation, and tracking of emissions maintenance activities.
• Monitor preventative and corrective maintenance work to help ensure timely completion.
• Maintain accurate equipment history, maintenance records, work order documentation, and supporting field information.
• Coordinate spare equipment, replacement parts, and material requirements needed to maintain emissions equipment in operation.
• Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend improvements to maintenance strategies and work practices.
• Support development and standardization of preventative maintenance procedures for emissions control equipment.

Team & Leadership Expectations

• Demonstrate strong teamwork by prioritizing what is best for Apache, Production Operations, and the Maintenance organization.
• Provide visible field leadership while remaining actively engaged in technical and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with Emissions Technicians, the Maintenance Manager, Production Operations, Environmental personnel, contractors, and other cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and support technicians while fostering technical development, accountability, and ownership.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent industry training preferred.
• 7+ years of related oil and gas, emissions, mechanical maintenance, or production operations experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of vapor recovery systems and emissions control equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining vapor recovery and emissions control systems.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas production facilities and associated surface equipment.
• Working knowledge of applicable environmental and emissions requirements.
• Experience with LDAR programs and Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) equipment preferred.
• Ability to interpret equipment performance, recognize recurring problems, and develop practical solutions.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or field coordination preferred.
• Experience working with contractors and maintenance service providers.
• Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), work order management systems, or equivalent maintenance planning software preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to self-direct, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively in a dynamic operating environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be safety minded and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to legally operate a vehicle and wear required personal protective equipment and respiratory protection.
• Position requires field work that may include lifting, climbing, bending, working at heights, working around moving machinery, and exposure to changing weather conditions, dust, fumes, and gases.
