Specific Responsibilities
The Deputy Field General Manager in conjunction with the EGPC appointed counterpart is responsible for the day to day operations of the entire field including wells, facilities in their area of responsibility and specific projects as directed by the Deputy Production Operations General Manager. This a 14/14 day rotational position.
• The Deputy Field General Manger is the lead Apache prescense in the field. This position is expected to lead and drive four main areas: safety, production delivery, OPEX management/reduction and CAPEX optimization/savings.
• Conduct safety audits to ensure procedures are being followed, incidents are reported and goals are being met. Conduct and followup on incident investigations and participate/review risk assesments. Ensure recommendations are being implemented.
• Responsible for daily production volumes and variances, any safety incidents, field activities, project updates, operational upsets, and any other issues that could impact production. Prepare accurate daily reports accordingly for the Deputy Production Operations General Manager.
• Other duties include: contractor management, running the camps, inventory management, review and approval of activity/material requisitions and weekly field visits to locations
• Provide strong and effective leadership and team coordination to deliver solutions for the operation and maintenance of wells, gathering systems, RPFs, processing and storage facilities, rotating equipment, pipelines etc. across their area of responsibility to maximize sales volumes safely with a focus on maximizing production volumes and minimizing costs.
• Communicate effectively and coordinate work with other departments including Drilling/Completions/Workover, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Projects/Facility Engineering to optimize resources, deliver projects on time and minimize production downtime.
• Work with Field and Cairo staff to identify, evaluate and implement projects while troubleshooting and optimizing existing operations to maximize production and reduce costs
• Assist in the development/training for field personnel and support succession planning of Field staff.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• BS Degree in engineering discipline from an accredited program, preferably Petroleum Engineering
• 15-20 years oil and gas operations experience in an integrated facility that includes exposure to safety programs, well operations, artificial lift, gathering systems, water flood, oil and gas process systems, rotating equipment, compression, pipelines, etc.
• 8 years supervisory experience working with multiple teams including safety, drilling/completions, production engineering, maintenance, facilities engineering, asset integrity, etc
• Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to multi-task and forward plan project requirements, self-starter in identifying opportunities, willing to tackle challenges and overcome obstacles while following up on issues to be sure they are resolved to completion
• International experience and experience in an international joint venture company is a strong plus
