Specific Responsibilities

The Oil and Gas Plant Engineering Advisor position is an important member of the field-based production operations team supporting the delivery of safe, predictable and optimized oil and gas plant and remote production facility operations and specific assignments as directed by their manager.  This a 14/14 rotational position.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Conduct Life Saving Rule safety audits to ensure procedures are being followed, incidents are reported and goals are being met.  Follow-up on incident investigations and ensure recommendations are being implemented.  Participate in preparation of risk assessments, MOC, HAZOP/PSSRs, Critical Equipment and sparing reviews when required and support process safety improvements.
•    Review and monitor daily process production volumes /  variances / sales specifications, any safety incidents, operational upsets, and any other issues within the oil and gas process facilities that could impact production.  Review and discuss issues daily with their manager.
•    Collate, monitor and record KPIs to assess the overall health of the oil and gas process plants across their assigned production area and highlight opportunities for improvements.
•    Assist with standardization and adoption of best practices across the oil and gas process plants across their assigned production area.  
•    Provide recommendations for optimization of the oil and gas process plants across their assigned production area to safely maximize sales volumes, minimize operating costs and ensure alignment of capacity with near term demand with a sense of urgency.
•    Provide technical input in developing project scope of work for future repair, upgrade and maintenance projects within the oil and gas process facilities.
•    Responsible for reviewing and working with the field process team to maintain updated key process documents such as operational procedures and P&IDs.
•    Communicate effectively both within the field and with Cairo to coordinate work with other departments such as Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Facility Engineering and Projects, Production Operations, Production Engineering, Drilling and Completions to optimize resources and minimize downtime / deferrals.
•    Mentor and coach counterpart staff field engineers/operators to build long term capabilities and operating knowledge.
•    Demonstrate behaviors aligned with Apache safety culture, operational excellence and continuous improvement principles.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent
•    5 years’ experience working in an international JV environment
•    15+ years operations experience in oil and gas upstream facilities 
•    Proficiency at using the industry standard suite of Microsoft Office applications
•    Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic integrated team environment & communicate effectively across disciplines.
•    Strong communication skills, be a self-starter in identifying opportunities, overcoming obstacles and pursuing initiatives through to completion.
