Specific Responsibilities
Apache is seeking a logging supervisor with 5+ years of experience to perform real-time QC/QA of wireline/LWD operations and ensure fast delivery of quality data to the petrophysics team. The primary assignment for this role will be to the petrophysics team while working closely with the drilling and operations geology teams. This position will be based in Apache’s Cairo, Egypt office and will require travel to wellsite’s throughout the Western Desert.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• QC/QA of log data and provide remedies, suggestions and take action to improve data quality.
• Be the point of contact between Apache and service companies logging Apache wells
• Reduction of NPT related to wireline/LWD tool issues.
• Travel to the wellsite for high-profile/important logging operations.
• Status updates communicated directly to drilling, operations geology and petrophysics.
• Responsible for RA source permitting with vendors and mobilization “call-outs” of logging crews and equipment.
• Attend regular drilling operations meetings.
• Facilitate quarterly service reviews with vendors.
• Generate reports to track any operational issues before, during, and after logging operations.
• Build and maintain a statistical database on logging performance, to include: safety statistics, lost time, well conditions, tool problem/failure, etc.
• Proactively promote safe practices and ensure safe operating practices are part of the program plan and execution.
• Work closely with the petrophysics team to develop cost efficient logging programs, review vendor invoices, and contract maintenance, tendering, and bid evaluations.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• Minimum 5 years oil and gas industry experience and a B.S. in Geology, Geophysics, or relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years working as a logging engineer (open/cased hole wireline and LWD)
• Excellent organization skills and database management to track vendor performance.
• Excellent communication skills – work closely with petrophysicists, drilling engineers, operations geologists, and vendors to ensure successful logging operations.
• Be familiar with logging software and tool calibration procedures and reports.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.
