Specific Responsibilities

The Data Engineer & Analytics Developer for Apache Egypt will support Exploration and Development teams within the Egypt Asset in Cairo. This position reports to the Geomatics Manager and is responsible for building and maintaining the data platform while delivering analytics and business intelligence solutions. The role ensures upstream data is properly ingested, transformed, and converted into actionable insights, aligned with PPDM standards.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for upstream data ingestion and transformation
•    Integrate data from subsurface, production, and external data sources
•    Build and maintain data warehouse and lakehouse structures
•    Implement data validation and quality checks aligned with PPDM standards
•    Optimize data models and query performance
•    Develop and maintain BI dashboards for exploration analytics
•    Build semantic data models and curated datasets
•    Perform ad-hoc analysis to support asset teams and leadership
•    Collaborate with geoscience and GIS teams to ensure data readiness
•    Maintain documentation, monitoring, and operational reliability of pipelines

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    5–10 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles
•    Strong programming skills in SQL and Python (Pandas, PyArrow, PyProj)
•    Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, data workflows and CI/CD pipelines
•    Experience developing dashboards using BI platforms (Power BI and Sigma)
•    Strong understanding of data modeling and transformation
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience in oil and gas upstream data environments
•    Familiarity with PPDM data standards
•    Experience with Data platforms (Power Automate, EDM & Snowflake).
•    Experience with distributed data processing (PySpark)
•    Exposure to subsurface datasets and geoscience workflows
•    Basic knowledge of GIS data integration
