Specific Responsibilities
The Decommissioning Facilities Engineer will be a member of Apache’s North Sea asset decommissioning team, supporting delivery of decommissioning strategy, planning and execution, reporting to the Decommissioning Snr Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Strategic leadership: support implementation of Apache North Sea decommissioning strategy.
• Decommissioning planning: support plan development for facilities decommissioning activities, ensuring it is optimized and aligned with Apache asset’s late life strategy and wider decommissioning plan.
• Studies: lead engineering studies in support of facilities decommissioning planning and execution.
• Project delivery: ensure that facilities decommissioning scopes adhere to Apache project delivery process, facilitating checkpoint reviews with key internal stakeholders.
• Contractor management: support project management and execution for facilities decommissioning project segments, ensuring they are delivered against project safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Financial oversight: responsible for cost estimation and forecasting, to support budget and cost management for facilities decommissioning scopes.
• Regulatory compliance: ensure all facilities decommissioning activities meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Stakeholder management: effective communication and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders regarding planning and execution of facilities decommissioning scopes.
Heath, Safety & Environmental
• Contribute to the prevention of Major Accidents by complying with commitments made in Apache Corporate Major Accident Prevention Policy.
• Comply with Apache EH&S Standards, management system requirements and applicable regulations
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• An undergraduate degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
• Demonstrable relevant professional experience gained within an oil and gas operator.
• Knowledge of and relevant experience with the U.K. regulatory framework.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills.
