Specific Responsibilities

The Senior Production Engineer for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Production Operations team at the company’s Aberdeen office reporting to the Operations Support Manager.

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Daily monitoring, evaluation and analysis of production and injection performance. · Troubleshooting and remediation of well related issues.
  • Assign well test priorities and evaluate test results.
  • Provide daily production engineering support to offshore operations.
  • Production efficiency and loss management – setting of potential and loss analysis. Development of production and injection optimisation targets for wells.
  • Procedure development for well operations.
  • Support identification and evaluation of production adding opportunities.
  • Well failure tracking and analysis, and well reinstatement evaluation.
  • Design, input and review of well completions for workovers (e.g. artificial lift selection and design).
  • Provision of production engineering support to well integrity management.
  • Ad-hoc work offshore as required.
  • Creation of Production consent submissions
  • Act as liaison with partners for production updates
  • Manage well chemical treatment plans with support of production chemistry team.
  • Completion of wells & production efficiency sections of NSTA stewardship report
  • Leading quarterly pattern and optimization reviews
  • Leading monthly field Production review meeting
  • Liaise with allocations to optimise tanker offloading and ensuring platform readiness

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Honours degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline; preferably chemical, mechanical or petroleum engineering.
  • Experience in use of production engineering software e.g. Prosper, GAP, PI Processbook.
  • Working knowledge and experience in design and operation of ESP and gas lift systems.
  • Working knowledge or developing awareness of rules and regulations relevant to operations within the UK oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 10+ years of Engineering discipline experience preferred
  • Experience in well optimization and appraising well intervention opportunities
