Specific Responsibilities

Allocations Analyst Senior for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Onshore Production Engineering at the company’s Houston, TX office reporting to the Allocations Manager - US].

This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Analyzes, corrects, and reports daily and monthly volume allocations 
  • Provides accurate and timely accruals and close volumes to revenue accounting 
  • Constructs allocation networks (new wells, gathering systems, and production measurement equipment) in Avocet 
  • Maintains relationships with field operators, foreman, and superintendents in the use of Avocet/Field Operator data entry 
  • Reconciles volume variances between allocated volumes, estimated daily volumes, and purchaser statements using Avocet and Spotfire 
  • Prepares and files state and federal production reports 
  • Organizes, enters, and reconciles crude oil and water tickets to 3rd party statements 
  • Investigates differences between gas purchasing statements to production volumes and check meters 
  • Works with various teams to ensure and provide additional data that all daily and monthly allocations are accurate down to the well level. Processes PPA’s when necessary 
  • Becomes proficient in and understands field equipment and process flows 
  • Maintains all active equipment flow in the field to capture emissions 
  • Monitors and resolves compliance issues associated with production audits, third party audits, GHG audits or Regulatory audits 
  • Prepares partner reports of monthly reporting 
  • Prepares and maintains of internal SOX controls with assigned level of responsibility 
  • Participates in special projects related to Production Accounting 
  • Participates in system upgrades and testing

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum Associate’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Energy Technology, Business/Finance or similar with Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of Oil and Gas Industry experience 
  • Minimum of 3 years of Oil and Gas production accounting and regulatory reporting experience 
  • Solid understanding of production accounting, including allocation methods and reconciliation 
  • Solid understanding of measurement, field data capture, process flows, and production networks 
  • Ability to analyze data and reach own conclusions 
  • Professional oral and written communication style 
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Conflict resolution skills 
  • Takes accountability and strives to increase results 
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Must possess good organizational skills 
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy 
  • Must be team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
